The first projection transition was installed in the Chuvash Republic

In the Chuvash Republic, thanks to the national project "Safe high-quality roads", the first projected pedestrian crossing in the region was installed in a test mode. The object is located on the site of the western entrance to the city of Cheboksary near the Kontur shopping center.

"This road is very busy with cars, which makes it difficult for pedestrians to move, especially in the "Contour" area. To ensure the safety of pedestrians, a projection pedestrian crosswalk was installed here. This is the first such transition in the republic, and we have installed it in test mode to assess its effectiveness. If the results are positive, we will consider the possibility of its dissemination," said Maxim Petrov, Minister of Transport and Road Management of the Chuvash Republic.

Equipment has been installed above the pedestrian crossing, which creates a bright light corridor using LED projectors with color filters. The projection is clearly visible in any weather at night. This allows drivers to notice pedestrians in advance, react and stop the car in time.

It should be noted that the western entrance to the city of Cheboksary is one of the main exit highways of the capital of the Chuvash Republic. There is a high traffic intensity here: it is up to 24 thousand cars per day. Thanks to the national project "Safe high-quality roads", the highway is being gradually updated. So, last year, a section with a length of about 1.5 km was brought to the standard, this year, as part of the savings, another section with a length of 4.5 km was included in the work plan. The object is transitioning.
