Perm electric buses transported more than 4 million passengers in the first year of operation

Since the launch of the first electric bus route in the capital of the Kama region, the new transport has transported 4.1 million passengers. The rolling stock was acquired thanks to the national project "Safe high-quality roads".

In November 2023, the first electric bus route connected the large residential complex "Weather" with the center of Perm and the railway station. Currently, 14 electric buses run daily on the line, and 2 more are in reserve. Ultra-fast cycle stations are equipped to charge them at the Saphirnaya Street stop.

Electric buses are the first type of public transport in the region that is equipped with an address door opening system: it allows you to maintain the microclimate in the cabin. The rolling stock is also equipped with stationary validators, video panels, information boards and other equipment.

During the year of operation, the transport performed 49 thousand flights. So, in the first 6 months of operation, electric buses transported 1.5 million people. In the second half of the year, passenger traffic increased significantly and by the end of the year amounted to 4.1 million. On average, 13.6 thousand citizens and guests of the city use the route on a weekday.

"Electric buses have become a real salvation for our district. Thanks to route 81, it is now much faster and more convenient to get to the center and the train station, especially during rush hours. Transport is comfortable, clean, and most importantly ― eco-friendly. It feels like the city is making steps towards the development of a modern transport system," Irina Kovalenko, a resident of the residential complex "Weather", shared her opinion.

Recall that the Perm Territory has become one of the participating regions of the federal investment project for the integrated development of electric transport within the framework of the national project "Safe high-quality roads". It was initiated by the Government of the Russian Federation together with the State Development Corporation VEB.RF. The project allows the regions to upgrade their infrastructure and purchase new trams and electric buses, and the residents of the city to fully appreciate the new type of transport in regular operation.
