In Yakutia, over 180 km of roads will meet national standards according to the road national project in 2024
The head of Rosavtodor, Roman Novikov, held a working meeting with the head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Aisen Nikolayev. They discussed the modernization of the federal road network, the implementation of the national project "Safe and Quality Roads," and the development of the backbone road network in the region.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Head of the Federal Road Agency, Andrey Samaryanov; Head of the Road Construction Department, Kairat Tursunbekov; Head of Regional Development and National Project Implementation at Rosavtodor, Radik Farazutdinov; and the permanent representative of the head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in Moscow, Grigory Fyodorov.
"Starting from 2025, road activities in the regions will be carried out in accordance with new national goals within the national project 'Infrastructure for Life.' Undoubtedly, this work will take into account the unique characteristics of the regions. In the Far Eastern Federal District, it will be closely intertwined with the development of 2,300 settlements. Our task is to ensure reliable transport connectivity between them," noted Roman Novikov at the beginning of the meeting.
Aisen Nikolayev pointed out that the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is located in a natural zone characterized by harsh climatic conditions that affect road activities. However, thanks to comprehensive support from Rosavtodor, the region has been able to improve many indicators of road activity.
The head of the republic reminded that the regional government is guided by a special master plan for the successful development of Yakutia, aimed at providing the population with modern infrastructure, including roads. The master plan includes the construction of social facilities, as well as roads connecting remote settlements.
It is worth noting that in September, several federal projects were inaugurated in Yakutia. A section of major repairs from the 962nd to the 975th km and a reconstruction section from the 1121st to the 1142nd km on the R-504 "Kolyma" highway were put into operation ahead of schedule. The working traffic was also launched on a capital-repaired section of the A-331 "Vilyuy" highway from the 588th to the 608th km. The updated section connects the Vilyuysky and Verkhnevilyuysky districts. In the Gorniy District of Yakutia, another ten kilometers of this highway were transferred to asphalt concrete as part of capital repairs.
Necessary road works are underway to bring sections of the A-360 "Lena" highway to standard conditions. This year, three segments totaling nearly 26 km were put into operation after major repairs, with two more repaired road sections totaling about 17 km planned for commissioning in the near future.
Federal road workers are also constructing a bridge crossing spanning 348 linear meters over the Amgu River at the 825th km of the "Lena" highway. The project includes the construction of new approaches to the bridge and a capital-type road surface with asphalt concrete cover. Road signs, signal posts, barrier fencing, and road markings will be installed on the bridge. All works are expected to be completed next year.
The parties also discussed the preliminary results of the implementation of the national project "Safe and Quality Roads" on regional and local road networks. In 2024, work is being carried out on 49 projects with a total length of over 180 km. For these purposes, funding from the federal budget amounts to 4.1 billion rubles.
In particular, in the Kobyaysky District, reconstruction work has been completed on the bridge crossing over the Khatyn-Yurakh River. The total length of the bridge crossing, including approaches, is about 1 km. This structure will improve transport accessibility for residents of Kobyaysky District, reduce travel time, and create safer and more comfortable conditions for vehicle movement.
In the Megino-Kangalassky district, the section from the 24th to the 30th km of the regional highway "Amga" was put into operation. The repair of the road with the laying of asphalt concrete pavement was completed a month ahead of schedule. Bringing the Amga highway to the standards plays a key role in ensuring the connectivity of settlements.
