In the capital of the Republic of Buryatia, the third stage of the introduction of an intelligent transport system is nearing completion
In the Ulan-Ude urban agglomeration, thanks to the national project «Safe Quality Roads», the third stage of the introduction of an intelligent transport system is being completed. In the capital of Buryatia, 23 traffic lights have been modernized, they are being connected to the Control Center.
In addition, work continues on the technical equipment of the «smart» system: 35 viewing cameras and 55 transport detectors are being installed.
Full monitoring of traffic and coordination of traffic is already being carried out on the main streets of the city: on the avenues of 50 years of October, Avtomobilists, Builders, Babushkin, Combat, Borsoev, Dorozhnaya, Ivolginskaya, Limonov, Nikolai Petrov, Revolution of 1905. In total, 21 highways of citywide significance out of 25 are under control.
Also today, Ulan-Ude residents can track the time of arrival of buses and trams using multimedia information boards located at stopping points. In total, 38 of them were installed in the city.
«The Russian government continues to support the development of intelligent transport systems. So, in 2022, the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, signed a Decree that amends the state program of the Russian Federation «Development of the Transport System». In particular, new stages of the development of intelligent transport systems in cities have been added. In this regard, in 2024-2026, the following measures are planned in Ulan-Ude: the creation of a video surveillance and accident and emergency detection subsystem, the installation of road management and maintenance modules, and monitoring the state of the transport infrastructure. Weather monitoring stations and much more will be installed. All this will help to better manage traffic and strengthen safety», ― said Alexander Goge, Minister for the Development of Transport, Energy and Roads of Buryatia.
Recall that the introduction of an intelligent transport system in Ulan-Ude began in 2021.
In total, by the end of the third stage, 77 traffic lights will be modernized in the capital of Buryatia, 131 surveillance cameras and 205 transport detectors will be installed. This will optimize road traffic in the city. The completion of the work is scheduled for the end of September this year.
