In the Kaliningrad region, about 200 km of highways were repaired under the national project
In the Kaliningrad region, thanks to the national project «Safe quality roads», 11 sections of regional roads and 8 sections of the road network in municipalities were brought into a normative state in 2021. The total length of the facilities was about 200 km.
In Kaliningrad, Hugo Street and Marshal Bagramyan quay were overhauled. Specialists have expanded the pedestrian part of the streets, equipped bike paths and additional parking spaces, replaced the asphalt pavement of the roadway, laid tiles on the sidewalks. Also, the overhaul was carried out on Lesnaya Street.
Next year, road works will be completed on P. Morozov Street ― this is a facility moving to 2022, now engineering networks, including rain water drainage systems, are being laid here. Paving on the road and sidewalks goes in parallel with the improvement of the pedestrian zone and the park. Also next year, repairs of Sudostroitelnaya and Transportnaya Streets will be completed.
Serebrovskaya Street in Baltiysk and Sovetskaya Street in Yantarny were brought to the standard.
As for the regional facilities of the national project, road works have been completed on nine sections of regional highways. In particular, a 20-kilometer section from Pravdinsk to Zheleznodorozhny has been repaired. The contractor has updated the road surface, equipped the sidewalks, strengthened the roadsides, road markings have been applied to the roadway.
One of the most important regional facilities is the highway Kaliningrad (from Borisovo) – Znamensk – Ozersk – Gusev – Dobrovolsk – Neman. Its length is 225 km, this year the repair of the 40-kilometer section began. A part of the road from Znamensk (through the villages of Gordoye, Sukhodolye, Cherepanovo, Novo-Bobruisk, Perevalovo) to Gusevo has already been brought to the standard. In the next road construction season, the section from Gusevo to the intersection with the Chernyakhovsk – Krylovo highway will be updated.
«The road from Kaliningrad to Neman is one of the main routes along which tourists can visit the cultural and historical sights of the region located in the east of the region. The highway is being brought into a normative state in stages, starting in 2018. By 2024, it is planned to complete its repair completely», said Evgenia Kukushkina, Minister of Infrastructure Development of the Kaliningrad Region.
In addition to the renovation of the roadway, 23 bus stops have been overhauled this year under the national project. To ensure road safety, autonomous lighting systems have been installed at pedestrian crossings on regional highways, metal strips with a retro-reflective surface and road signs have been installed on roadside trees.
Road safety measures were also carried out in municipalities. Thus, work has been completed on the arrangement of parking and sidewalk in the village of Ushakovo, Guryev urban district, in the area of the Center for talented children. A pedestrian path was made in the village of Vesnovo of the Krasnoznamensky district.
