More than 800 roads to schools will be repaired in the regions this year thanks to the national project

Every year, thanks to the "Safe Quality Roads" national project, city streets and regional roads leading to educational institutions are brought into a normative state. In addition to upgrading the roadway, pedestrian crossings, traffic lights, barrier fences, road signs and road markings are installed.

"Over the three years of the project, we have brought 2100 road sections leading to schools and kindergartens into a normative state. Today, all over the country the "Last Call" is ringing, the school year is over, some will go on holiday, some will take their exams, and for road workers the most active time of work begins. It is necessary to upgrade roads, so that in the new school year the path to knowledge will be as fast, comfortable and safe as possible" - said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

This year, contractors will continue to upgrade the entrances to schools and kindergartens.

"This season, we plan to bring 822 sections of roads near educational institutions to the standard. Their total length will be more than 2.3 thousand km. These are streets in populated areas, regional and inter-municipal roads, on which school buses run. Most of the facilities will be commissioned by the start of the new academic year", - said Roman Novikov, Head of the Federal Road Agency.

So, in 2020, Gymnasium No. 1 was opened in Angarsk, Irkutsk region, located in the microdistrict 7 A. Local residents were eagerly awaiting the completion of the construction, but the condition of the access to the educational institution caused numerous complaints. The local authorities put Zurabov Street on the list of national project sites.

"This year it has been decided not to do patching work on Zurabov Street near Gymnasium No. 1. The site will be repaired in a comprehensive manner. The "Safe Quality Roads" national project will help, - said Vladimir Khabibulin, head of the road management department of the Department of Housing, Construction, Transport and Communications of the Angarsk District Administration. - The street will be updated on the section from Angarsk Avenue to Komintern Street. The total length of the site is 1.2 km."

A new school with an upgraded road will also appear this year in Borisoglebsk municipal district of Yaroslavl region. Here 7.5 km of the road Borisoglebsky - Buikino from village Borisoglebsky to village Voshchazhnikovo will be repaired.

"This year, in the village of Voshchazhnikovo, we will not only complete the construction of a new school, but also repair the road, on which the routes of school and regular buses run. We will approach its repair in an integrated manner. Particular attention will be paid to the elements of improvement, responsible for the safety of both road and pedestrian traffic. I am sure that after the repairs, the way in this direction will become more comfortable and safer", - said Viktor Nezhenets, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Yaroslavl region.

Anokhin Street is being renovated in Chita. Schools No. 49 and No. 2, located here, are considered to be among the oldest schools in the capital of Transbaikal. According to the websites of the educational institutions, the former was founded in 1930, the latter is over a century old and has been located in the building on Anokhin Street since 1966. For the first time this year, as part of the national project, projected pedestrian crossings will be installed near schools No. 49 and No. 2 in the capital of Transbaikal.

"Anokhin Street along its entire length - more than two kilometres - will be repaired in two stages. This year - from Stolyarova Street to Kastrinskaya Street, next year - to Barguzinskaya Street, as on a site of 2023 works on heating networks will first be carried out", - the acting head of regional Ministry of Construction Sergey Krivoshchekov told.

Let's remind, in total thanks to realisation of the national project "Safe Quality Roads" in 84 subjects of the Russian Federation more than 4,8 thousand sites in a total length of more than 15,4 thousand km will be brought into a normative state. The area of laying the upper layers of the road pavement will be more than 112 million square metres.
